My relationship with photography started when I was only 10 years old when I began to use my first camera.
In 2000, with the dawning of the digital camera, the idea of taking a photograph and seeing the result immediately took a great hold on me.
I learned all I could about this new technology.
The turning point came when I studied with two distinguished masters, Carlos Marques and Ricardo Dias, at Oficina da Imagem.
It was there I decided to become a professional photographer.
After the Master Course I took several other courses and workshops at Eliseus Fotografia, FLAG and Studio8a where I learned Fashion, Portrait, Human Figure and Advertising
from Paulo Roberto, Nudes and Still Life with João de Castro in both black and white and color.
At the end of 2003 I started the project Lxstudio - Atelier de Imagem as one of the managers but ended it to dedicate myself to a more personal projects like shows, fashion, advertisement, expositions and publishing.
I now take an active part of the Hard'n'Heavy – Online Magazine where with a friend, Cameraman Metálico, we do the covering and publishing of what is going on in the musical business in Portugal and around the World.
I'm also an active collaborator on the Portuguese Magazine, Super Foto Pratica writing several technical reviews. Also work with the newspaper A Capital and with the music magazine, Rock Sound.
I am International correspondent for the AIP (American Image Press) and for the American International Magazine "Today's Photographer Magazine" (Verification Code # 74703LEA)
and Official photographer of the Big Casino Nights 2004 in Casino Estoril.
I finished my latest personal project that took me to two of the more important countries of Central Europe, Czech Republic and Slovakia which were parts of the old Czechoslovakia before the separation.
Public presentation will be in 2005 to promote a culture interchange with the graphic designer and painter Igor Cvacho with support of both embassies.
My exhibitions include "By the Santiago Stages" due in September 2004 shot in the Café Bar Santiago Alquimista and also due in October 2004 another exhibition "Big Nights at the Casino" shot in the Casino Estoril Saloon.
Contacted by EMI-Valentim de Carvalho to do a concert photo session to be included on the Ena Pá 2000 20 years aniversary DVD to be released during 2005.
During the beginning of 2005 I was contacted by WENN (World Entertainment News Network) to make part of their team as a correspondent photographer.
Lisbon Fashion Week have been one of the biggest fasion shows in Portugal and I've been following it regularly during 2004 and 2005.
Laureus one of the world's biggest sport events took place here in Portugal last May and I did the photo cover of all the event as well as the "Globe Awards".
I was contacted by news agency BrainPix as a regular photo journalist.
Did the event Super Bock Super Rock 2005/2006/2007 which included bands like Marylin Manson, The Prodigy, The Black Eyed Peas, New Order, Moby, Slayer,
Audioslave, Iggy & The Stoges, Metallica, Joe Satriani among others.
Currently working as a photographer for Model Mayhem and a regular correspondent of Getty Images, WENN (World Picture Network), Imago Press and Sipa Press agencies and I'm always available for assignments upon request.
